Reward Offered for Information Leading
to Bank Robber Arrest

St. Louis Office of the
FBI, announced that a bank robber targeting banks
in the St. Louis metropolitan area, known as the "Boonie
Hat Bandit", is now believed to be responsible
for nine bank robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles
County since November 2007.
The "Bandit" is believed to have robbed
two banks on May 5, 2008. The Commerce Bank, 1699 Clarkson
Road, Chesterfield, Missouri, was robbed at approximately
11:40 a.m. The Bank of America, 4189 Veterans Memorial
Parkway, St. Peters, Missouri, was robbed at approximately
2:05 p.m.
The "Boonie Hat Bandit" is further described
as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, approximately
45 years old. Based on the most recent robberies, the "Bandit" is
now clean shaven and did not wear a hat. The suspect
was nicknamed the "Boonie Hat Bandit" due
to his use of a military style hat in two robberies,
commonly called a boonie hat.
The FBI is offering a $5,000.00 reward for information
leading to the arrest and conviction of this offender.
